In the asylum's walled garden he paints irises, lilacs, and ivy-covered trees. Landscapes, such as Yellow Wheat and Cypress, would be some of the most exquisite paintings he would ever produce. Paintings from this period at Saint-Rimy are exhibited to critical acclaim. Both pieces include a sculpted frame with gentle engravings designed to emphasize the art. The frames also include a wooden liner with a subtle fillet. The frame color is black with a rich antique gold accent.
