His accomplishments included a .406 batting average in 1941, two triple crowns, two MVPs, six American League batting championships, 521 Home Runs, a lifetime average of .344 and was selected to 17 All-Star Games. As Ted Williams contemplated retirement, a young prospect emerged in the Boston system. Carl Yastrzemski would succeed the great Ted Williams in Left Field, and carry on the Green Monster's grand tradition. "Yaz" succeeded Ted Williams in 1961 and retired 23 years later as the all-time Red Sox leader in eight major categories. A three time-batting champion, "Yaz" was named the American League MVP in 1967 when he won the Triple Crown, batting .326 with 121 RBI and 44 home runs. These two baseball icons patrolled Fenway Park's left field for a combined 42 seasons. This serial edition #1 collectible includes 3-8x10 photos, a Boston Red Sox team medallion and 3-laser engraved descriptive plates.
